Carousel ads: show several photos in one ad

Turn a single-image ad into a carousel of 2 to 10 of your own photos that people swipe through on Facebook.

Written by Troy Mack

A carousel ad shows several photos in one ad. People swipe through them on Facebook, and every card opens your lead form or link, the same as a single-image ad. It's a great way to show off a listing room by room, or a few homes your buyers or downsizers would love.

Which ads can be a carousel

You'll see the carousel option on:

  • Listing ads, including any ad you create for one of your listings

  • Buyer ads, such as Buyer Campaign

  • Downsizing ads

  • Custom ads

Remarketing versions of these ads have it too. Video ads don't, because their picture is the video's thumbnail.

How to make a carousel ad

  1. Go to Launch Ads and click Select on the ad you want.

  2. Under Select an Ad Image, click Carousel.

  3. Click 2 to 10 photos in the order the cards should appear. Each one shows a number, so you can see the order. Click a numbered photo again to take it out.

  4. Check the Ad Preview on the right. Once you've picked two photos, it shows a row of cards you can scroll through, just like on Facebook.

  5. Finish the rest of the steps and launch your ad as usual.

The Single image and Carousel choice, under Select an Ad Image:

A carousel of four photos. The numbers show the order of the cards, and the preview shows how they'll swipe:

Which photos you can use

A carousel is made from your own photos:

  • Listing Photos, when the ad is for one of your listings

  • Your Images, the photos you've uploaded to StreetText before

  • Upload Image, to add a new photo. It's added as the next card and also appears in Your Images.

Stock images and map images aren't available for carousels, so those tabs are hidden while Carousel is selected. They come back when you switch to Single image.

Good to know

  • You need at least 2 photos for a carousel. With fewer, your ad goes out as a single image.

  • Every card uses your ad's title and button, and opens the same lead form or link.

  • If you switch to Carousel and back to Single image without picking anything, the photo you had is kept.

  • On your Ads page, carousel ads show a Carousel badge with the number of cards.
