A tour of the new Automations page

Your automations now sit in one table: filter by Active or Paused, search by name or ad, see each automation's ads and steps, and pause, resume or rename without opening it.

Written by Stephen Whiting

The Automations page has been rebuilt as a table, so you can see everything about an automation at a glance and make the common changes right from the list.

Open it from Automations in the menu, or go to streettext.com/boost/automation.

Find the automation you want

  • Use the All, Active and Paused tabs. Each shows a count, so you can tell at once how many automations are running.

  • Type in the search box to find an automation by its name or by the name of an ad it is attached to. Clear search brings everything back.

What each row shows

  • Automation: the name. Names that are used more than once are flagged so you can tell them apart.

  • Starts when: the ads that feed the automation. Each one links straight to that ad on the Ads page. If an automation has several ads, click + more to see the rest and Show fewer to tuck them away again.

  • What it does: the steps in the sequence as icons, so you can see whether it is texts, emails or a mix, and when they go out.

  • Started: how many contacts have entered the automation.

  • Running: how many contacts are currently waiting on a step. This counts each contact once, so it can be lower than the old In Automation figure, which counted every step a contact was sitting in.

  • Status: a switch showing whether the automation is active or paused.

If a message in the automation still contains a merge field that has not been filled in, such as a city placeholder, the row flags it so you can fix the message before it goes out.

Pause or resume without opening it

Click the Status switch to pause an active automation or resume a paused one. An Undo link appears for a moment in case you clicked the wrong row.

Rename in place

Click the rename icon beside the name, type the new name and press Enter. You can Undo that too.

Edit the steps

Click Edit on a row to open the automation and change its messages, timing or entry points, exactly as before.

Create a new automation

Click Create New Automation. You are asked to name it first (for example, Home valuation follow-up), and then the editor opens with your new automation ready for its first step.

New ads and automations

The Disable automations for new ads switch at the top of the page decides whether an ad you launch from now on turns on its automations automatically. Leave it off and new ads start their automations as usual; turn it on and new ads will not start any automations until you switch them on yourself.
