You can call your leads right from StreetText. Every call is logged on the contact's timeline, and recorded calls get a transcript, an AI summary and coaching.
Who can use calling
Calling comes with the Scale plan and the free trial. Accounts that had already set up calling keep it.
Turn on calling
The account owner or an admin goes to Settings â Calling and clicks Turn on calling. Choose what happens when a lead calls you back: ring your cell, or send them to voicemail.
Make a call
Open a contact and click Call. Then choose:
Call from your browser: talk through your computer's microphone and speakers. A headset works best.
Call my phone: StreetText rings your cell. Answer, press 1, and you're connected to the contact. They see your StreetText number, not your cell.
Before each call, StreetText checks that the contact can be called right now: their local time, do-not-call lists, and whether they asked not to be called. If a call can't go ahead, the dialer tells you why.
When the call ends, choose how it went and add a note. The call shows on the contact's timeline with who made it and how long you talked, and syncs to Follow Up Boss if you have it connected.
When a lead calls you
When a contact calls your StreetText number, we ring the agent assigned to them, then the number's owner, then the account owner. If nobody answers, they can leave a voicemail.
What it costs
Calls cost 9Âą per minute of connected talk time, taken from your StreetText balance. Minutes are rounded up per call. Recording, transcripts, AI summaries and coaching are included. Calls nobody answers are free.
Each call shows on your Balance page, for example "Call with Jane D. · 5 min". If your balance runs out during a call, the call is not cut off. New calls pause until you add funds, and the call is charged automatically once you do. Turn on auto-reload to keep calling without interruptions.
Recording calls
In Settings â Calling, the account owner chooses Record calls or Don't record calls. Turning recording on asks the owner to confirm they understand the recording laws that apply to their team and contacts. Everyone on the team is told when recording is turned on.
You can also choose to play "This call is being recorded." to the other person when a call starts. Some states and provinces require everyone on a call to agree to it being recorded, so check the rules where you and your contacts are.
Recordings are kept as long as the contact is, and are deleted 30 days after the contact is deleted.
Who can hear a recording
The account owner and admins can play any call's recording. An agent can play recordings of their own calls and of calls with contacts assigned to them.
Transcripts, AI summaries and coaching
A few minutes after a recorded call ends, the call shows:
Transcript: who said what, you or the contact.
Summary: what was discussed, action items and the next step.
Coaching (calls of a minute or more): a score out of 100, what went well and what to try next time, with quotes from the call.
The owner or an admin can tell the coach what else to look for in Settings â Calling, for example "Did they ask about pre-approval?". Agents see coaching for their own calls unless the owner turns that off. The owner and admins get a daily coaching email at 7am when calls were scored the day before.
AI can make mistakes, so check summaries and coaching against the call. If calls aren't recorded, there are no transcripts, summaries or coaching.
