What it does
Teams that work more than one market can now text from more than one number. Add an extra texting number to your account (for example, a Florida local number for your Florida agent), assign it to a teammate, and every text to that teammate's contacts â replies, automations, broadcasts, and Follow Up Boss action-plan texts â goes out from their number. Replies from those contacts come back to the same number and land in your Conversations inbox as usual.
Adding a number
Go to Settings â Numbers and click Add Number. Search by area code, city, or map to pick a local number.
Your plan includes your first (primary) number. Each additional number is $3 per month, or $29 per year if you are on an annual plan. The charge is added to your Conversations subscription and prorated, so the first bill covers only the days left in your current billing period. You will see the exact amount before you confirm.
Adding numbers requires an active Conversations subscription and a completed business (EIN) texting registration. Sole-proprietor registrations are limited to one number by carrier rules. Your existing registration covers any number you add, so there is no re-registration and no waiting period.
Removing a number
Open Settings â Numbers and delete the number. It is released straight away and the monthly charge stops at your next renewal. There is no refund for the remainder of the current period, so it is worth keeping the number until the end of the cycle you have already paid for.
Only the account owner or an admin can add or remove numbers.
Assigning a number to a teammate
You can assign from either page:
Settings â Numbers â pick a teammate on the number.
Settings â Teammates â pick a number on the teammate.
Each number can belong to one teammate. Numbers with no teammate, and contacts with no assigned teammate, use your primary number.
How routing works
A text to a contact goes out from their assigned teammate's number.
An ongoing conversation stays on the number it started on â it never switches on its own.
Reassigning a contact to a different teammate is the one thing that changes their number: from then on, texts come from the new teammate's number (just like reassigning in Follow Up Boss changes who follows up).
If you push lead assignments to Follow Up Boss (or assign inside FUB with assignment sync on), the texting number follows the assignment automatically.
A broadcast sends each contact from their own assigned teammate's number, so one broadcast can go out from several numbers at once. Contacts with no assigned teammate get your primary number.
If a contact texts STOP to any of your numbers, they are opted out of texts from all of your numbers.
Business hours and timezone, per teammate
A teammate working a different market usually keeps different hours, so each teammate can set their own business hours and timezone. Open Hours & timezone from the profile menu while signed in to the account: the page shows and saves that teammate's own hours, never the owner's.
Scheduled texts to a contact follow the hours and timezone of the contact's assigned teammate. A Follow Up Boss action-plan or note command such as [3pm] on a Florida agent's contact means 3pm Florida time, not 3pm in the owner's zone.
Until a teammate saves their own hours, texts to their contacts follow the account owner's hours and timezone. The page says so plainly, and contacts with no assigned teammate always follow the owner's hours.
Changing a teammate's timezone keeps their hours at the same wall-clock times in the new zone, so 9:00 to 5:00 stays 9:00 to 5:00.
Nothing changes for the account owner: the owner's own Hours & timezone page works exactly as before.
Call forwarding
Call forwarding is set per number, so each teammate's number can forward calls to their own phone.
Common questions
Will my contacts notice the number change? Only if you reassign a contact to a different teammate. Existing conversations stay on the number they started on, so nobody mid-conversation suddenly hears from a stranger.
How many numbers can I add? As many as you need. Each one is $3 per month and can be assigned to one teammate.
What happens if my payment fails? Texting pauses until your card is updated, and your numbers are kept while we retry. If the account is cancelled, the numbers are released with it.
