What the integration does
Once connected, every new StreetText lead appears in your GoHighLevel account as a contact — with their name, email, phone and address, the source "StreetText", your lead's tags, and a link back to the lead in StreetText. Updates to the lead flow through too. You can also pick a GoHighLevel workflow, and every new contact StreetText creates is dropped straight into it — so everything you have already built in GoHighLevel fires from your StreetText leads, with no Zapier and no per-lead charges.
Before you start
You will create a Private Integration Token inside your GoHighLevel sub-account. This takes about two minutes and you only do it once.
Step 1 — Create the token in GoHighLevel
1. Log in to GoHighLevel and open the sub-account you want connected (not the agency view).
2. Go to Settings → Private Integrations and click Create new integration. Name it anything — "StreetText" works.
3. On the Scopes step, tick exactly these permissions:
View Contacts · Edit Contacts · View Locations · View Workflows · View Users · View Tags · View Custom Fields · Edit Custom Fields
4. Click Create and copy the token — GoHighLevel only shows it once.
Step 2 — Find your Location ID
While you are inside the sub-account, look at your browser's address bar. The Location ID is the code right after /v2/location/ — for example, in app.gohighlevel.com/v2/location/zb7Kt4s1Hkfd1o6Vwfjo/dashboard, the bold part is the Location ID.
Step 3 — Connect in StreetText
1. In StreetText, go to Settings → Integrations and click the GoHighLevel tile.
2. Paste the token and the Location ID, and click Connect.
3. StreetText checks the token on the spot and confirms with your GoHighLevel business name — "Connected to Your Company". If something is off (a mistyped token, a token created at the agency level instead of the sub-account, or a missing permission), you will be told exactly what to fix.
After connecting
Outgoing sync is on from the moment you connect — new leads start flowing right away. On the settings screen you can also:
· Pick the GoHighLevel workflow new contacts are added to.
· Pick the GoHighLevel user new contacts are assigned to.
· Turn tag sync on or off. StreetText only ever adds tags to your GoHighLevel contacts — tags you set inside GoHighLevel are never removed.
Good to know
· If your token stops working (GoHighLevel recommends rotating tokens every 90 days), StreetText pauses syncing and shows a reconnect banner — paste a new token from the same sub-account and syncing resumes.
· Disconnecting stops syncing and forgets the token. Contacts already created in GoHighLevel stay there. After disconnecting, also delete the token inside GoHighLevel (Settings → Private Integrations).
· Bringing GoHighLevel contacts into StreetText (incoming sync) is on the way.
