Keep your Follow Up Boss assignments matching StreetText

Turn on Push Lead Assignments so the agent a lead is routed to in StreetText is the agent it lands on in Follow Up Boss.

Written by Stephen Whiting

If your team uses lead routing in StreetText and also runs Follow Up Boss, you may have noticed the two disagreeing: StreetText hands a new lead to the next agent in your rotation, then Follow Up Boss runs its own routing and assigns somebody else. Both are working as designed, they just each think they are in charge.

Push Lead Assignments settles it. Turn it on and StreetText becomes the source of truth: whoever a lead is assigned to in StreetText is who it is assigned to in Follow Up Boss.

Who this is for

Teams that have both of the following:

  • A connected Follow Up Boss integration.

  • More than one agent on the account, with leads being routed or assigned between them.

If you are a solo agent, or you would rather Follow Up Boss keep doing your routing, leave this setting off. Off is the default, and nothing changes for you.

Before you start

Agents are matched between the two systems by email address. For each teammate whose leads should carry across, the email on their StreetText teammate profile must be the same email as their Follow Up Boss user account.

It is worth checking this first. A teammate whose email does not match any Follow Up Boss agent will still get the lead in StreetText, and the lead will still sync, but Follow Up Boss will fall back to its own routing for that one.

Turn it on

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations > Follow Up Boss.

  2. Find Push Lead Assignments, listed between Outgoing Sync and Address Only Sync.

  3. Switch it on. The change saves straight away and applies to every lead from that point on.

Only the account owner and admins can see and change your integration settings.

What happens once it is on

  • New leads arrive already assigned. When a new lead comes in and your routing hands it to an agent, it appears in Follow Up Boss assigned to that same agent, rather than being routed again on the Follow Up Boss side.

  • Later changes follow. If you re-assign a lead in StreetText days or weeks afterwards, whether by hand or through routing, the matching person in Follow Up Boss is updated to the new agent within a couple of minutes.

  • Unassigning changes nothing. Setting a lead back to Unassigned in StreetText leaves the Follow Up Boss assignment exactly as it is, so nobody loses a lead from their queue by accident.

Turning it back off

Switch the same toggle off and StreetText stops touching assignments in Follow Up Boss entirely. Follow Up Boss goes back to routing new leads its own way. Assignments already pushed across stay as they are, so turning it off is not undone retroactively: it simply stops from that moment.

Everything else about the integration, lead sync, the inbox, conversations and pipeline stages, behaves the same whether this setting is on or off.

If an assignment does not carry across

Almost always this is the email match. Check that the teammate's StreetText email is character for character the same as their Follow Up Boss email, including which domain it uses. Agents often have one address on one system and an alias on the other.

Also give it a moment: the update is not instant, and can take a minute or two to appear in Follow Up Boss.
